Principal Accountabilities

 

·    Maintain the database operation and supporting services

·    Provide guidance to developers to insure efficient database use

·    Perform tuning, monitoring and optimization of queries

·    Perform data backup and restoration

·    Perform database changes in conjunction with development team

·    Perform system tuning, performance monitoring and optimizing of SQL

·    Perform data modeling and database design

·    Support and maintain the database schema

·    Manage metadata and data dictionary

·    Perform database capacity planning

·    Participate in code reviews to ensure efficient SQL is employed

·    Perform data movements and extractions via ETL

·    Assist with database application and IT support when needed

·    Address data related problems

·    Perform database storage and capacity planning

·    Manage special projects, as needed Lead any effort involving database migration and

     upgrade

·    Supervise database backup and restore operations

·    Perform database recovery when needed

 

Qualification and Experience

 

·    5 years of proven experience as a database administrator

·    Knowledge of Database Mirroring, Multi-Tier, High-Availability application architecture  

·    Knowledge of SAN environments and Virtual SQL Server environments

·    Familiarity with PowerBI, PowerShell, productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, Project, Visio)

·    Experience with cloud technologies (e.g. Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory)
