Looking for a matter expert for Citrix Desktop, XenApp and XenDesktop Consultants for the duration of the migration to  provide the following remote Migration support services:

 

Assessment, Design, Execute and Construction

     
  • Identify any pre and post-migration activities
  •  
  • Obtain  and confirm final user bundling and scheduling
  •  
  • Generate testing process for completed migrations
  •  
  • Citrix cluster deployment
     
  • Obtain existing documentation around architecture, blueprint and any other Citrix deployment process
  •  
  • Generate testing process for new cluster
  •  
  • Build remaining Citrix cluster in target environment following CUSTOMER guidelines
  •  
  • Work with the VMware team to incorporate the cluster into the environment.
  •  
  • Work with Networking team to integrate new Citrix environment with current NetScaler configuration
  •  
  • User Acceptance Testing inside of POC
  •  
  • Execute testing and confirmation with CUSTOMER about successful deployment
  •  

 

XenApp

POC  for XenApp

     
     
  • Deploy up to 1 (one) XenApp server using the PVS process to validate applications
  •  
  • Install up to 1 (one) thick application in XenApp server and stream 1 (one) App-V package
  •  
  • Validate application assignment using one desktop
     
  • Develop migration runbook for Citrix applications
  •  
  • Develop rollback process for Citrix applications
  •  
  • Develop Citrix basic checks for Help Desk to validate applications assignment  
  •  
  • Define  L3 escalation process for published applications
  •  
  • XenApp environment preparation
     
  • Deploy XenApp servers using existing Windows Server 2016 images (using PVS) as needed to support the required applications
  •  
  • Install thick applications in XenApp servers following provided list and processes
  •  
  • Stream App-V applications, working with the APPV team, into XenApp servers following provided list and processes
  •  
  • Assist CUSTOMER in building the testing environment for application owners to test the applications
  •  
  • Perform Citrix and App-V publishing application testing as part of the CUSTOMER certification process. Remaining activities for certification will be performed by CUSTOMER.
  •  
  • Complete applications tests after certification process has been completed
  •  
  • Solution and Document publication process required Citrix and App-V for applications involved in the certification.
       
  • Any other documentation required for applications mitigations, packaging, functional tests and others outside Citrix and App-V publication will be developed by CUSTOMER

XenDesktop

     

POC for XenDesktop (persistent and non-persistent)

     
     
  • Execute pre-migration activities required for a persistent and non-persistent desktop
  •  
  • Perform a Windows 7 to Windows 10 persistent desktop migration including any user Data if applicable
       
  • User data migration will be performed following the deployment engineering process describe earlier in the document
     
  • Execute post-migration activities required for a persistent desktop
  •  
  • Perform a Windows 7 to Windows 10 non-persistent desktop migration including any user data if application
       
  • User data migration will be performed following the deployment  engineering process describe earlier in the document
     
  • Develop migration runbook for Citrix persistent and non-persistent desktops
     
  • Create additional batch files for assignments to be executed for User assignment and Desktop Assignment in Citrix
     
  • Develop rollback process for Citrix persistent and non-persistent desktops
  •  
  • Develop Citrix basic checks for Help Desk to validate migration of users
  •  
  • Define L3 escalation process for migrations

Delivery and Migration

     
  • Confirm  final list for pilot and production migrations

  • Confirm  any pre-requisites are in place
  •  
  • Confirm user bundling and scheduling. Validate the user communications have been completed
  •  
  • Confirm L3 support process in place with the proper escalation process from L1 and L2

 

XenApp Migrations

Once the final XenApp production servers have been deployed following the required guidelines for the migrations, applications installed in XenApp servers, App-V applications published in XenApp servers and the certification process for those applications have been completed, the remaining activities around XenApp will be mainly to complete applications assignments in the environment.

 

No activities are considered to migrate data or configurations from existing Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2016. The new Windows Server 2016 servers for XenApp will be provisioned using PVS and from existing images in CUSTOMER.

 

The migrations validations will be performed in the XenDesktop migrations once the users are migrated with their desktops and the applications published.

 

o  Confirm final list of applications assignments in the Citrix environment for users

o  Complete applications publishing and users assignment for the new XenApp environment

 

XenDesktop Migrations

     

Pilot migrations

     
     
  • Execute desktop persistent and non-persistent migration process as designed process
  •  
  • Perform testing for desktop and applications access as designed
  •  
  • Update migration runbooks if necessary
  •  
     

Production migrations

     
     
  • Execute desktop persistent and non-persistent migration process for production machines following designed process and user schedule
  •  
  • Perform testing for desktop and applications as designed
  •  
  • Provide report on migration progress and status
  •  
  • Update migration runbooks if necessary during execution
  •  
     

L3 support for Citrix

     
     
  • Coordinate activities with L1 and L2 issues that are escalated to L3
  •  
  • Provide next day L3 support for the migrated users up to 5 (five) days after the migration has been completed
  •  
  • Provide L3 support cases status on bi-weekly basis
  •
